My chest is tightening, I know it's coming
as I choke back the tears that have so long been building.
Letting myself go for only one day
praying if I write it, this pain will go away.
Shuddering breath and trembling fingers,
I try to hold it in but I can feel it rising.

So when can I release this tension inside me?
Even though I speak to you, I feel like I'm hiding.
Thoughts shrouded in my heart
Feelings flowing through my veins
Questions forming, doubts arising
Screaming Into the Night.

Are you the type that don't want to cry in front of anyone?

Eh. It depends on the day, and who's around. If it's my friends, I'll cry freely. If I'm in public, I cry silently. Why do you ask?

Your poem reminded me a little of myself. I try to not cry in front of anyone.

When I wrote this, and was feeling this, I wasn't actually AROUND anyone. I was in my room, but the feeling building up was an ear splitting scream of frustration and pain....
:iconswords-and-bandages:
Silence can be oppressive.

It can be a lot of things. Mainly, painful.
:iconswords-and-bandages:
Cheap thrills are good pain relievers. Particularly the kind that give you the zero-g experience.
